The Tangier to Sahara Desert 6-day tour commences by picking you up from your Tangier accommodation. From there, we journey to various enchanting destinations including Chefchaouen, Fes, the Middle Atlas region, and the majestic Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Along the way, we will venture into the captivating landscapes of Dades and Todra Gorges, visit the historical sites of Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and enjoy guided tours in both Fes and Marrakech.

Day 1 : Tangier » Chefchaouen » Fes.
- On the initial day of the 6-day tour from Tangier, we will rendezvous with you at the Tangier port. From there, we will traverse the scenic Rif Mountains and Tetouan city, relishing in the breathtaking mountain vistas, until we arrive at the charming village of Chefchaouen nestled at the base of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen’s Medina boasts a Spanish-inspired square and is encircled by a myriad of unique arts and crafts shops, rooftop restaurants, and cozy cafes where you can indulge in a delightful lunch. Following that, we will continue our journey to Fes, where we will spend the night.
Day 2 : Fes Sightseeing tour with a local guide
- Following breakfast, the day is entirely devoted to the exploration of Fes, renowned as the oldest of the imperial cities, and its captivating Medinas. Founded by Idriss II, Fes is a vibrant hub of Arab-Muslim culture. We will visit notable attractions such as the Mosque of the Andalusians, the tanneries, the district of potters, and the bustling Medina. A palatial lunch will be served within the Medina, adding a touch of grandeur to our experience. In the afternoon, our explorations continue as we visit the impressive Hispano-Moorish buildings and the Medersas Nejjarine.
Day 3 : Fes » Ifrane » Azrou cedar forest » Merzouga Desert.
- Following breakfast, we embark on a southward drive towards Ifran and Azrou, traversing the captivating Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we make a stop at the cedar forests to observe monkeys in their natural habitat. Continuing our journey, we pass through the scenic Tizi Ntalghamt and marvel at the stunning Ziz gorges, which have been sculpted into volcanic rock. From here, you’ll witness the picturesque views of the Middle Atlas plateau, and as we approach Errachidia, the landscape gradually transitions, offering glimpses of the desert. After a satisfying lunch, our adventure continues through the Ziz valley, leading us to Erfoud, Rissani, and ultimately Merzouga. Upon arrival, we enjoy a refreshing glass of mint tea before leaving our belongings at a hotel. We then embark on an enchanting camel trek towards a Berber camp nestled amidst the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi, the highest sand dunes in North Africa. The camel ride to the camp takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, where we spend the night in traditional Berber tents equipped with comfortable mattresses, blankets, and pillows. After a delicious dinner, we gather around the campfire, indulging in the mesmerizing melodies of traditional Berber songs and the rhythmic beats of drums, all while marveling at the star-studded night sky.
Day 4 : Merzouga » Todra Gorges » Dades Gorges.
- Rising early, we embrace the opportunity to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the majestic dunes, followed by an exhilarating camel ride at the hotel. After refreshing showers and a satisfying breakfast, we embark on our journey towards Tinghir and the renowned Todra Gorges. Marveling at the stunning natural beauty, we eventually make our way to the captivating Dades Valley, where we will relish a delectable dinner and spend the night, immersing ourselves in the tranquility of this picturesque location.
Day 5 : Dades Gorges » Ait Ben Haddou » Marrakech.
- After breakfast, we drive through the Dades Valley to Kalaat M’Gouna and Ouarzazate. The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs offers plenty of photo opportunities.We will visit the Valley of Roses and the village of Skoura, then continue to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa.” Lunch is at the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, the largest Kasbah in Morocco.Having visited this UNESCO site, our journey continues through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka pass, reaching an altitude of 2260 meters, on the High Atlas Mountains. We stop to enjoy the stunning views. We arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
Day 6 : Marrakech Sightseeing tour with a local guide.
- Marrakech, the vibrant “Red City of Morocco,” awaits our exploration today. Accompanied by a knowledgeable city guide, we’ll discover historical and culturally significant sites, including the Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and Ben Youssef Koranic School. As we stroll through the medina’s streets, we’ll witness skilled craftsmen at work before reaching the bustling Djamaa El Fna square. A delightful lunch near the square will be followed by visits to the Majorelle Gardens and the modern district of Gueliz. After dinner, immerse yourself in Djamaa El Fna’s lively atmosphere with magicians, storytellers, and food vendors. This private tour with Morocco Tours Agency concludes our Marrakech adventure.
